<h1 class="ql-align-center">PM CARES for Children Scheme</h1> <h2>Context:</h2> <ul><li>Ministry of Women and Child Development issued detailed guidelines for “PM CARES for Children Scheme</li></ul> <h2>About:</h2> <ul><li>This scheme is under the Ministry of Women and Child Development</li></ul> <ul><li>The aim of this scheme is to support children who have lost both their parents or legal guardians or Adoptive Parents or Surviving Parents to the COVID19 pandemic during the period starting from 11th March 2020</li></ul> <ul><li>The scheme provides support to these children through a convergent approach, gap funding for ensuring education, health, monthly stipend from the age of 18 years, and lump sum amount of Rs. 10 lakhs on attaining 23 years of age</li></ul> <ul><li>The scheme is expected to continue till the year when every identified beneficiary shall turn 23 years of age </li></ul> <ul><li>At the District level, District Magistrates is the nodal agency</li></ul> <h2>Guidelines:</h2> <ul><li>A corpus of Rs 10 lakh for each child when he or she reaches 18 years of age.</li></ul> <ul><li>For children under 10 years, admission will be given in the nearest Kendriya Vidyalaya or in a private school as a day scholar.</li></ul> <ul><li>For children between 11-18 years, the child will be given admission to any Central Government residential school such as Sainik School, Navodaya Vidyalaya, etc.</li></ul> <ul><li>The child will be assisted in obtaining an education loan for Professional courses / Higher Education in India as per the existing Education Loan norms.</li></ul> <ul><li>All children will be enrolled as a beneficiary under Ayushman Bharat Scheme (PM-JAY) with a health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakhs.</li></ul>
